THe ADF&G assessment of fishing at Sheep Creek is not consistent with our own assessment of this fishing stream in 2009. It has been an excellent location all summer to catch a King Salmon and on Saturday June 27 over 30 Kings were seen landed in the first three hours of fishing at the mouth. Boats were limiting out along holes inside the river just below the highway bridge and large schools of fish had moved into the stream and were holding in the deeper holes. As the water levels continued to drop Kings were observed backing out of Sheep Creek and milling around in the deeper water near the confluence with the Susitna River. |
